"Connection Through Communication"

"Horsemanship encompasses the meaning of what it is to work towards harmony with the horse.
In my mind, it is a state of constant transition to find a better way, for us, and the horse".

Trainer, coach, behavioural specialist, bodyworker and communicator.. let’s get to know a little more about horseman, Ross Cooper of Rosca Horsemanship!

Unlike many who grew up riding before they could walk, Ross did not find himself in the company of horses until his teenage years, and as the best things happen, completely by chance! While some may deem this otherwise, Ross has always seen this as beneficial; he never did feel quite right about the way traditional and conventional ways were taught, therefore his own ‘late starting’ allowed him to carve his own path.

To Ross, the art of a horseman is not to constrain to a method, style or be defined by any discipline; it is to find the way of being in harmony with the horse.

With one of the most intuitive styles of horsemanship in the UK,
Rosca Horsemanship's approach is not built on methods, but principles that promote the fundamental needs and learning of the horse; functional movement, emotional balance and progressive learning, creating and enhancing connection through mutual communication. Ross takes on board both intrinsic and extrinsic factors of the environment and individuals involved, blending together these elements that make a truly holistic whole-horse approach.

From foundation through to advanced horsemanship, Ross works alongside all manner of horses, from pleasure to performance, big to small, in a variety of disciplines, being fortunate enough to have worked alongside a number of organisations and horses around the world including in the United States and Southern Africa.

Ross covers a wide range of training aspects that include hands-on training on the ground and in the saddle, to dynamic ridden coaching for all ages, skill-sets, styles and disciplines, helping you to reach your full potential as equestrians, riders and individuals.

Ever adding to his repertoire of skills to enhance his own development, Ross has gained accreditation over the year as, including, but not limited to, Equine Behaviour Consultant, Level 3 in Equine Psychology, UKCC Level in General Riding, UKCC Level 2 in Western Riding, Level 4 in Lameness and Rehabilitation, Equine Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and multiple CPD courses focusing on equine behaviour, biomechanics of both equines and riders and trauma.

Centrally located in the United Kingdom, Rosca Horsemanship is based on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, The Midlands, offering commutes Nationwide to you for private lessons and sessions as well as residential training stays.
