Myofascial release (MFR) is a specialised form of manual therapy focusing on improving soft-tissue dysfunction and releasing restrictions, pain and tension in the connective tissue, known as fascia.
Fascia is the connective tissue that penetrates all layers of the body and is recently being hailed as the missing link in progressive bodywork. If the body experiences trauma of any kind, be this from poor postural habits, surgery or physical and emotional trauma, this can create issues within the fascia, resulting in restrictions, limited range of movement and dysfunction within the soft tissues of the body.
Ross holds the practitioners diploma in Myofascial Release massage, which can be booked as a stand-alone treatment or to compliment other forms of manual therapy, such as sports massage or suction cup therapy, both of which Ross offers.
The benefits of myofascial release are far-reaching, aiding in negative holding-patterns caused by poor posture, sports injuries, psychological and physiological stress, joint pain and arthritis to name few.
